The IAI Footwear Certification Board and Board of Directors have approved the implementation of a new written certification exam. The new examination will be implemented as of March 1, 2013 and will require a passing score of 80%.

A candidate can prepare for the new written examination by reading the following: Bodziak, W. J., “Footwear Impression Evidence (Second Edition),” IAI Recommended Course of Study for Footwear and Tire Track Examiners, along with all Published Standards by the Scientific Working Group for Shoeprint and Tire Tread Evidence (SWGTREAD).
